UL Japan, announced the introduction of new test equipment corresponding with the Extended Power Profile (EPP). The new equipment allows UL Japan to provide manufacturers with full testing solutions for solutions up to 15 Watts, the maximum defined in the latest version of the Qi standard.

“We are pleased to be able to respond to the market need for wireless power testing, especially focusing on the addition of the EPP to the Qi standard,” said Masato Hashizume, General Manager of UL Japan’s Consumer Technology Business Division. “Going forward, wireless power is expected to be utilized in various fields, including home appliances, medical equipment and many others, in addition to smart phones. We are establishing a system that can support a diverse field of customers to ensure that a wide range of fully compliant products can be developed and delivered to market smoothly.”
