• Samsung Fast Charge approved as proprietary protocol
  • First evaluation tools for Medium Power released

Being the last WPC conference for 2018, this meeting coincided with the 10 year anniversary of WPC. With both new and old faces from the now over 600 member companies, the intensive commitment in work groups was accompanied by excitement and great expectations for the wireless future that is approaching. The nok9 team participated as always with numerous contributions in work groups and task forces, while also offering free access to WPC approved test equipment in IOP and Plugfest.

During the meeting nok9 released EVA II, the first ever evaluation tools for Medium Power (60-240 W). With a modular design these tools will provide  a reference and the ability to evaluate prototype designs. The solution was demonstrated in the IOP, where several members provided their prototypes for the first evaluation and verification testing.

WPC agreed to include Samsung Fast Charge as a proprietary protocol. Already earlier this year, nok9 released the Samsung Fast Charge (SFC) upgrade for CATS II BST test equipment.  This was jointly developed with Samsung Electronics who first approved and certified the integration into nok9 CATS II as of May 2019.
